FAQ
The Project
What is CLSTR?+
CLSTR is a series of collectible ceramic wall elements called GSTRs. Each GSTR is handbuilt, unique, and designed to be displayed individually or in groups. It measures approximately 5 to 10 cm, is glazed and high-fired. Each GSTR is individually documented in the archive.
What are Patches and Fields?+
A small group of GSTRs installed together is called a Patch. Patches are typically created in private interiors and function as intimate clusters or accents. When the installation expands to architectural scale — hundreds or thousands of elements shaping an entire surface or space — it is referred to as a Field. Patches and Fields are not different objects, but different densities of the same work.
Can CLSTR be installed at architectural scale?+
Yes. GSTRs can form small wall compositions or large-scale installations, depending on quantity and configuration.
Buying & Pricing
Can I buy just one?+
Yes. You can begin with a single GSTR. Many people start with one or more and gradually add more to build a Patch or expand into a larger wall composition.
How are they priced?+
GSTRs are sold by weight rather than size. The price per kilogram may evolve over time.
Where can I find the certificate of authenticity?+
The packaging functions as the certificate of authenticity. It includes the number and recorded weight of the GSTR. The packaging unfolds and stores flat, designed to be preserved as part of the CLSTR archive. If packaging is lost, a replacement certificate can be issued.
Installation
How do I install my GSTR?+
Each GSTR is designed to be mounted on a wall. Three options: 1) Integrated Hook — flat GSTRs include a built-in hook on the back. 2) Stem Opening — for GSTRs that extend further from the wall, a small opening is integrated into the stem. 3) Adhesive Mounting — GSTRs can also be mounted flat to the wall using a suitable wall adhesive. Flat GSTRs are additionally compatible with a magnetic mounting system, available separately.
